- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 120 g sugar
- 240 ml lukewarm milk
- 60 g unsalted melted butter
- 1 egg
- 900 g apples (Pink Lady, Fuji or Royal Gala)
- 170 g brown sugar
- Ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by mixing warm milk with sugar and yeast; let it froth for 5 minutes. Combine flour, salt, melted butter, egg, and vanilla in another bowl then add the yeast mixture to form dough. Knead until smooth.
- Allow the dough to rise in a greased bowl covered with a damp cloth for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- While it rises, prepare the filling by cooking chopped apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and water over medium heat until softened.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the apple filling evenly over it.
