  • 120 g sugar
  • 240 ml lukewarm milk
  • 60 g unsalted melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 900 g apples (Pink Lady, Fuji or Royal Gala)
  • 170 g brown sugar
  • Ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing warm milk with sugar and yeast; let it froth for 5 minutes. Combine flour, salt, melted butter, egg, and vanilla in another bowl then add the yeast mixture to form dough. Knead until smooth.
  2. Allow the dough to rise in a greased bowl covered with a damp cloth for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  3. While it rises, prepare the filling by cooking chopped apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and water over medium heat until softened.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the apple filling evenly over it.
  5. Roll tightly into a log shape and slice into equal pieces before placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Let rolls rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake for approximately 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
