Ingredients
- 8 ounces (225g) sausage meat
- 1¾ oz (50g) mature cheddar cheese
- 2 teaspoons thyme
- 1 sheet (350g) rolled puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan/gas 6) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sausage meat, mature cheddar, thyme, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 25x48cm and cut into 6 rectangles (8x25cm each).
- Form the sausage mixture into long portions and place one on each pastry rectangle.
- Brush edges with beaten egg, fold over the filling, and seal with a fork.
- Optionally chill the rolls for 10 minutes before baking.
- Brush tops with beaten egg and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
