  • 4 inches fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp black peppercorns
  • 10 cups water

Instructions

  1. Wash and quarter the apples without peeling.
  2. In an Instant Pot, combine apples, sliced ginger, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, black peppercorns, and water. Lock the lid and cook on high pressure for 18 minutes. Release steam manually.
  3. Alternatively, in a stock pot, simmer the ingredients over medium heat for about 30 minutes until apples are soft; steep covered for an additional 10 minutes.
  4. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to catch solids.
  5. Allow to cool at room temperature before sealing.
  6. Serve warm or chilled.
