Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In one bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and strawberry essence.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter with sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in milk, oil, yogurt, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Divide batter into three bowls: add cocoa for chocolate flavor, strawberry essence with food dye for strawberry flavor, and leave one plain for vanilla.
  6. Layer each batter into prepared muffin tins and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool before frosting with vanilla buttercream and adding decorative toppings.
